III. Featured Library Card:

Name: Anarch Secession
Type: Action
Rarity: R
Edition: KMW
Cost: 0
Text: +1 stealth action. Requires a ready, non-anarch, titled vampire. Put an anarch counter on this acting vampire. This vampire becomes anarch (and Independent). If he or she had a city title, he or she becomes the baron of the same city as his or her previous title. Minions without titles cannot block this action. Burn the anarch counter if this vampire changes sects.

Lets face it, the Gangrel do not have a lot of political power or inherant titles. However, building a Political deck can be dangerous if you don't have any vampires with titles early on in the game. Having this card in your deck is critical if you want to use any of your Anarch cards with vampires like Xaviar or Zayyat, The Sandstorm.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

IV. Featured Crypt Card:
Name: Zayyat, The Sandstorm
Clan: Gangrel
Capacity: 10
Disciplines: aus qui tha ANI FOR PRO
Group: 3
Set: Anarchs:U2
Text: Independent: Zayyat has 2 votes. Zayyat can move up to 3 blood from himself to a younger vampire in your uncontrolled region as a +1 stealth action. Once each turn, he can burn 2 blood to get +2 stealth for the current action.

Zayyat is ideal for a Gangrel Political deck. His capacity is high, but his 2 votes, discipline spread, and 2 specials are well worth it. First, his inherant 2 votes are great in the early stages of the game when you don't have any Baron titles out. In addition, his special card text can allow you to easily bring out new minions. Finally, in the event that you completely run out of stealth, his other special allows you to burn two blood for two stealth and pass that last vote to get the game win.

V. Strategy:

The Deck of the month is a Gangrel Political deck that I used to win a local tournament. This deck focuses on the Gangrel and Protean as a support discipline to gain Baron titles, and then oust your prey using politcal actions. Plan B is to bleed with Stolen Police Cruisers.
The strategy of using Gangel Barons and polical actions works for several reasons. The first is the ability to gain the Baron title as an action. In this deck, Protean stealth or Form of Mist works for gaining titles, Political actions, and bleeding. Firebrands also give votes and untap ability. Earth Meld and Form of Mist can be used to tap potential blockers, or to sleeze past them. Finally, Animalism untap combined with Friend of Mine allows you to stay untapped after reducing a bleed. Something of a side effect that I noticed... very few people expect a combat-free Gangrel deck, so this deck will fly under the radar at the start of the game.

VII. Next Month
I have no plans yet for next month, aside from re-adding the fiction section. Please, send in your Gangrel decks. My local group will be running the Cultist Storyline, so perhaps that will be the theme of next month's newsletter. Thanks again for reading and I look forward to all of your comments... oh and the website is live and working properly now.
